Although summer officially started last Thursday, I’ve been off for a month and teaching “summer school” for the past month.
June flew by.
Spend time alone.I chose to spend the last week at home sleeping in and cleaning. Practice yoga.I’ve spent more time at home and living intuitively: sleeping or napping whenever and doing whatever workouts I feel whenever I want. I’ve enjoyed Nourish Move Love‘s workouts – she focuses on muscle activation so you can get the most out of it! Connect with people who are faraway.I started picking up the phone to check in with my friends if we can’t be together. I got comfortable with phone calls because, at least once a week, I’m talking to someone long-distance for 1-2 hours. Be reckless with my heart.A lot has happened in the past few weeks and it’s hard to encapsulate all of it. I’m highly sensitive and empathetic to others and it’s hard for me to see people I care about struggling. BUT we are both working on communicating our feelings and learn how to approach each other when we feel this way. There are bright moments: I sent a package with sweet, meaningful gifts and messages… and plane tickets were purchased (see below).
July is packed, at least for the first 18 days.
This year, I’m heading to the Northeast for 10 days.
Once I get back, I have less than 24 hours to put myself together before someone comes to visit and we go on a 5-day road trip.
In the midst of all this, here are my intentions.
- Practice letting go of my insecurities. I’ve opened up about them a lot to work on them. I bought a 2-piece bathing suit and then bought another one. I have a lot of them that keep showing and I need to get ahold of them.
- Show affection. I’m affectionate by nature, but I’ve never shown it per my upbringing. I showed affection easily with one person and continued it with my friends and strangers!
- Listen to listen and not to reply. I talk a lot and I try to listen. If I talk less, it creates lulls in conversation that I’ll have to get used to.
- Do less, rest more.
